Continuing Education and Renewal Date: All licenses expire every 2 years from date of issuance.
Effective October 1, 2024, new regulations (Titles 17-314 and 17-315) went into effect regarding Continuing Education completion and submission prior to license renewal.
#1 - CE courses must be completed 30 days prior to your license renewal date to avoid a reinstatement fee.
#2 - CE Providers have up to 14 days from the completion of a course to upload the credit hours into the MREC system.
Hours Required by Maryland Real Estate Commission: 15 hours
All Brokers, Designated Branch Office Managers and Team Leaders initially licensed prior to October 1, 2023 are required to complete 15 hours of CE each renewal cycle.
Effective 10/01/2025, Residential Licensees must take:
12.5 Mandatory hours:
3 hours - Legal and Legislative Update (A)
2 hours - Fair Housing (C)
3 hours - Ethics (D)
3 hours - Principles of Brokerage Relationships & Disclosures (H)
1.5 hours - Supervision (I)
2.5 Elective hours (L, M and N are elective options)
Effective 10/01/2025, Commercial Licensees must take:
12.5 Mandatory hours:
3 hours - Legal and Legislative Update (A)
2 hours - Federal Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) (P)
3 hours - Ethics (D)
3 hours - Principles of Brokerage Relationships & Disclosure/Commercial Agency (H)
1.5 hours - Supervision (I)
2.5 Elective hours (L, M and N are elective options)
