It's tough out there -- job opportunities are not what they were a few years ago. However, there is one distinct area, in addition to health care, which is on the rise and experiencing dramatic growth: renewable energy. President Obama recently signed a $787 billion recovery package into law. The New Energy for America Plan lays the groundwork for big change -- and Allied meets the need for "green" careers with new, innovative course offerings.

At Allied, we have launched a new website, www.training4green.com, that promotes the benefits and career potential of "green" careers. With a focus on green awareness, we have also added new online courses that are in line with today's eco-friendly careers and provide you with opportunities beyond those of traditional careers -- and a way to be at the forefront of an exciting market.

The first course offering includes Solar I: The Business of Solar, which provides you with the fundamentals of a solar energy business -- from building a business to developing sales strategies. The course has also been bundled with other Allied courses to provide customized career training -- get your start as a green real estate appraiser, green real estate agent or green contractor.

Additional course offerings to be launched include: Introduction to Photovoltaic Systems, Green Building Practices, Home Energy Survey Professional, Mold and Allergens and more.

The opportunities in the new "green" era are going to be abundant -- it's just a matter of finding the right niche. You should be on the lookout for truly green companies that are dedicated to producing renewable energy or products and environmentally-sound services. Any professional involved in the buying/selling, construction, inspection, appraisal or management of property will be in a position to benefit from a "green" career -- meaning huge opportunity for you!

The Obama administration has committed to doubling U.S. renewable energy by 2012, and plans to invest $150 billion over 10 years toward the nation's clean energy economy. These plans are designed to help create five million new jobs during this timeframe -- creating a wealth of opportunities in a growing industry.
