Meet the Allied Staff & Faculty
We have highly qualified full-time staff and faculty members that bring real-world knowledge and expertise to Allied Schools. They comprise an effective team of professionals that oversee all of the school’s operations and ensure that students have the best educational experience possible. They are in the top of their fields and have a pulse on the educational world – their qualifications, skills and training make them assets to our students and school.
Mr. Jay Achenbach, Chairman of the Board of Directors
Mr. Jay Achenbach founded Allied Schools in 1992 with a vision to offer quality real estate, medical and business courses to students through distance education. He made his vision reality and grew the company to more than 250 employees and 825,000 students in the first 14 years. He brought extensive real estate experience to Allied, having owned and operated several real estate companies and built over 7,000 homes and apartments as well as commercial and industrial projects. Achenbach is a member of Young President’s Organization, World’s Business Council, Resselaer Council, Chief Executive Association, N.A.R, C.A.R., and more. Additionally, he has authored books on real estate and goal setting. Mr. Achenbach is a Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute Graduate (Engineer).
Mr. George Achenbach, Chief Executive Officer and President
Mr. George Achenbach oversees all of the operations of Allied Schools while developing new and innovative courses and materials that keep the company moving forward. He helped lay the initial groundwork for the school in 1992, and today is responsible for the overall management of Allied. He supervises the day-to-day affairs and makes decisions that are in the best interest of the staff, faculty and students. Achenbach brings vision, dedication and strong leadership to Allied Schools and continually strives to find the best possible way to educate students worldwide.
Ms. Beth Wang, Vice President
Ms. Beth Wang provides the leadership, management and vision necessary to ensure that the company as a whole operates in a smooth manner. She makes certain that the proper operational controls, administrative and reporting procedures, and people are in place to make Allied the strongest, most effective distance education school available. It is Wang’s duty to oversee growth, ensure financial strength and keep the company operating efficiently. She thinks that distance education is important because it enables students to get the education and training they need 24/7 from home. Wang has an M.A. degree in Communication Arts from the New York Institute of Technology and an M.S. degree in Computer Science from the University of New Haven.
Ms. Geri Achenbach, Chief Financial Officer
Ms. Geri Achenbach is Allied’s top financial executive. She has the essential role of managing the accounting department and overseeing all financial matters. She directs Allied’s financial goals, objectives, and budgets, and continually serves to benefit Allied and its students. As a vital part of the management team, Achenbach is dedicated to providing high-quality education products, and contributing to the growth and profitability of the school.
Mr. Stephen Catanzaro, Controller
Mr. Stephen Catanzaro has the important task of supervising accounting and financial reporting within Allied Schools. His solid achievement in finance, accounting and operations enables him to effectively manage the company’s day-to-day financial needs. His demonstrated ability to improve offerings and streamline operations makes him an asset to Allied Schools. Catanzaro is a Certified Public Accountant, with a B.S. degree in Accounting from City College of New York and an M.B.A. from Golden Gate University. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and California State Society of Certified Public Accountants.
Ms. Charli Hislop, AAU President and Chief Compliance Officer
Ms. Charli Hislop began her career in the online education field with Allied Schools, Inc. in 1996. From ensuring compliance standards are met at all regulatory levels to progressing business/course development efforts and launching Allied National High School, she has had the pleasure of playing an integral role in the overall growth of the Allied Schools' family of companies. In Spring 2010, Hislop became president of Allied American University (AAU), while also continuing her duties as chief compliance officer. Today, she oversees the efforts to provide a high-quality and accessible online university education to students worldwide, as well as maintain the quality standards of Allied as a whole. Ms. Hislop holds an M.B.A. from American Sentinel University.
Mr. Brian Tripodi, Director of Information Technology
Mr. Brian Tripodi has the all-important job of keeping the Allied staff and students on-line. He oversees the programming, Internet, software development, and networking tasks at Allied Schools. From employees managing their databases to students requiring technical support, he oversees a team of professionals that keep Allied’s systems and online courses running smooth. Tripodi effectively manages Allied’s computer and communications hardware and software to keep the company’s technology cutting-edge and provide the best possible service for students.
